Suspension Training Workshop with Lee

Saturday, 18 March
10:00-11:30
£20

Suspension training engages the whole body. The instability that the suspension system creates while you perform movements means that your core is constantly activated. The functional movements mean that many muscles are worked at the same time, providing a very comprehensive, all over body workout.
Lee is one of Glasgow's most sought after personal trainers. His knowledge of anatomy and years of experience on how to utilise exercise programmes to get the results you desire, as well as his friendly approachable character is what draws people to him.
He will work through the muscle groups that are being targeted and will be ready and open for lots of questions and answers.

A wonderful introduction to the world of Aerial Yoga or a great way to brush up on technique.
Using our giant luxurious hammocks to warm up, supporting the body, increase your flexibility gently and mindfully while building core and upper body strength. When ready moving into therapeutic and fun inversions using as much resistance and support as you need, always knowing that the hammock is there.
Finishing with arguably one of the most amazing ways to relax, cocooned airborne in your own world, inside the hammock. In daytime the sun shines gently through the sky lights, sometimes you can listen to the pitter, patter of raindrops or if you're lucky to join in an evening class you may even see the night stars!

Aerial Yoga Arm Balancing

Saturday, 22 April
11:00-12:00

This is a really fun and slightly addictive, (you've been warned), way to play in the hammocks.
Helping guide your body into postures that you may almost be able to get supported, or maybe feel are still out of reach.
The hammock will allow as much support as your body requires. For some, without even always realising, it is just fear holding us back and that your body is actually ready.
Take away the fear, knowing the hammock has you... and voila, before you know it, your body has control.
A wonderful class to do and a wonderful class for me to teach.

Aerial Yin Yoga - By Guest Teacher, Clare Gates-Sjoblom from Finland

Saturday, 29 April
10:00-11:30
£15
Buy!

Clare is at present running Yin Yoga Teacher Training at Our World Yoga. We are delighted to have her run this workshop for us.

Combining 2 of my favourite practices, Aerial Yoga and Yin Yoga, a perfect combination.
Imagine, long deep holds, being supported and held with our giant purple silk hammocks. Allowing us to move slowly, being invited into postures, applying moderate stress to the connective tissue and fascia, creating greater flexibility and joint mobility, as well as peace within the heart and stillness of the mind.

The hammocks will be hung lower for this class and is for all abilities.
Yin finished with a sublime relaxation, swaying gently in the hammocks.

Part 1
10:00 - 12:00

Building from the foundation, working in small groups, finding our balance and strength, growing in confidence and ability, moving into 'washing machines', will we manage a 'pop' or a 'hand to hand'?, let's wait and see....

Lunch for all (Vegetarian)

Part 2
13:30 - 15:30

Going over briefly some of the 'tricks' from Part 1, and looking at what we can work towards before Neilon's next visit! - For the most of this section, we'll be seeing how AcroYoga can be 'therapeutic' as opposed to the 'Dynamic' nature we'll have covered in the morning, finishing with the teachings of Thai Massage, a gift you can take away and practice.

We would highly recommend you come to both 'Parts', which just about everyone has done in the past and it reduces the cost to only £40!

- If you're looking for further discount, choose the 'bring a friend to both parts' option when booking and this reduces the cost to only £35 each! (£70 for 2)

- Quite often other yoga/dance studios or friends like to come in groups, message us direct for 'group discounts!'

We are so excited to welcome Neilon back! This is a truly wonderful and unique day, spending time with other yogis of mixed ability. Trusting, supporting and encouraging each other from the minute you walk through the studio doors.

Ticket for one - £40
Ticket for two - £70

After the success of our 2016 Retreat and searching venues throughout Europe last year, trying to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes, we believe we found it and we are so glad to be able to offer you the opportunity of another yoga experience. Escaping to a peaceful and Idyllic location in the Algarve

Aerial Yoga Edinburgh & Our World Yoga have come together to offer you this fabulous 4 night 'Yoga Experience'.

We have searched venues throughout Europe trying to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes, we now believe we've found it! Escape to the peaceful and idyllic location of Monte Mariposa in the warmth of the Algarve, Portugal.

This retreat is quite unique, in that we are offering over 4hrs of physical Yoga Asana per day as well as daily led Meditation and Yoga Nidra. There are 2 studios for your use, which means we can offer both 'Aerial Yoga' Classes (all levels & restorative) and 'Mat' based (yin, restorative and vinyasa flow). You can do as much or as little as you like...

Included are 3 delicious, healthy freshly cooked vegetarian meals a day with tea's and water. The focus on this retreat is for you to come back feeling happy, healthy and rejuvenated, therefore no alcohol permitted.

Also included is the use of the swimming pool and sweat lodge, yoga mats (however we do recommend you bring your own) and towels. On the premises is a treatment/massage room where a whole range of holistic therapies are offered, this is organised locally at an additional charge.

We will be organising an optional excursion, 'the yoga beach trip', where we will practice and play (yoga games & some partner/group yoga). At this time of year the sea is generally still averaging 70 degrees, perfect for a dip! This year we will be offering a further excursion of 'Paddle Boarding' if you are feeling adventurous and have a good sense of humour! If this isn't for you, the option is to spend a few hours exploring the harbour town of Tavira or spending the afternoon sunbathing in a hammock or by the pool at the retreat.

Transfers can be organised - to be arranged closer to the time with retreat owners (small diesel charge TBC nearer the time).

Flights/Travel insurance/Paddle Boarding excursion/Massages are not included in the retreat price.

£100 deposit is required to confirm your space. This can be arranged by bank transfer or going online to the 18th September 2017
